Royal County Down, founded in 1889, and located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings within the Murlough Nature Reserve. Rory McIlroy, Northern Ireland’s current world star is a frequent visitor. Day 2 – Hollywood
Well known for it’s most famous home grown player, world golf star Rory McIlroy. This beautiful course is set high in the Holywood hills of County Down and is just 7 miles outside Belfast with breathtaking views of Belfast Lough and the Antrim Coast. (2 of 5)
Day 3 – Royal Portrush
Established 1888, the Dunluce links at Royal Portrush Golf Club ranks amongst the world’s greatest courses. It is a masterpiece of golf course architecture. Unimaginable rough and testing greens combined with the unpredictable weather of the roaring North Atlantic. It’s the only club in Ireland to have hosted The Open Championship and is home to the new British open champion Darren Clarke. This year’s Irish Open will be staged at Royal Portrush for the first time since 1947. (3 of 5)
Day 4 – The Valley- Rathmore
Home of Graeme Mc Dowell, U.S. open champion 2010, this 6,304-yard, par 70, is a very fine test of links golf. Every year a major amateur golf competition is held here, attracting over one thousand golfers. (4 of 5)
Day 5 – Portstewart Golf Club
Founded in 1894 Portstewart has one of the best opening holes that golf has to offer, a downhill 425yd par four. Set among imposing and gigantic sand dunes with panoramic views across the North Atlantic to the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal this course is as dramatic as it is challenging. (5 of 5)
